It’s a Sprint: Games Leaving PlayStation Plus January 2026 Edition

Sayonara Wild Hearts by Simogo

The Game Awards when it aired on December 11th marked the end of the video game calendar. Yes, good stuff gets announced and released every week, but Metroid Prime 4 felt like the last big title of 2025.

Were you satisfied with the winners (this is a clever way of me asking if you enjoyed Clair Obscur)? What announcements excited you the most?

It’s hardly a deep cut, but I can’t wait to play Resident Evil Requiem. I also haven’t been online much so I missed the Tomb Raider leaks. Seeing Lara swan dive was one of my favorite single moments from the whole show.

Here is everything currently scheduled to leave PlayStation Plus in January. This list seems light, so be sure to keep an eye out for updates as we creep closer to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name

Playtime estimate according to HowLongToBeat: 12.5-33 hours

SD GUNDAM BATTLE ALLIANCE

Metacritic Score: 74

Playtime estimate according to HowLongToBeat: 17.5-70 hours

Sayonara Wild Hearts

Metacritic Score: 84

Playtime estimate according to HowLongToBeat: 1.5-9.5 hours

Monopoly Plus

Metacritic Score: 53

Playtime estimate according to HowLongToBeat: 2-5.5 hours

People LOVE Sayonara Wild Hearts, and at only a couple hours, it’s a prime candidate to be binged. I’m also interested in giving Like a Dragon Gaiden a shot (it might be the shortest entry in that franchise). That’s the beauty of Sony giving us this list almost a full month in advance. We have plenty of time to think it over–or procrastinate for three weeks.

My goal is to wrap up any Tactical Reload related business over the next couple days–but after last week I feel like Nintendo could ambush us at any time (or multiple times in the same day) with more additions to their online catalog. I’ll also need to publish the Game Pass departures when that info is available.

Talk soon! And remember, reject the notion that you don’t have time to play everything.
