It’s a Sprint: Games Leaving Game Pass December 31st, 2025 Edition

Hell Let Loose by Team 17, Expression Games, and Black Matter

We’re in the final countdown–what lofty gaming goals do you have left?

I’m still plugging away at Hogwarts Legacy. The one positive to come out of grinding on a single title for the last month is I get to begin next year by catching up on all the best things from 2025. I can already tell picking a top 10 is going to be brutal–and whatever necessary shuffling I’ll do to my top 64 will be almost impossible.

Silksong? Clair Obscur? Donkey Kong Bananza? Video games are amazing.

Here’s everything scheduled to leave Game Pass before New Year’s.

Carrion

Metacritic Score: 75

Playtime estimate according to HowLongToBeat: 4.5-6 hours

Hell Let Loose

Metacritic Score: 79

Playtime estimate according to HowLongToBeat: 37.5 hours

Carrion won’t be for everyone but it is very good. Imagine John Carpenter’s The Thing from the point of view of the creature. Later levels play out like puzzles as you goop from vent to vent to avoid pesky flamethrowers. Gory, gross, but oh so satisfying.

My goal is to hang out with my family for the next couple weeks–we’ll see if the industry cooperates. I should be back the last week of the year to finish some reviews and preview Awesome Games Done Quick before it kicks off January 4th.

Happy Holidays! I hope you get to spend them with good people, good food, and any gifts you receive leave your backlog bloated.
