It’s a Sprint: Games Leaving Game Pass August 31st 2025 Edition

Sea of Stars by Sabotage Studio

I finished the Tony Hawk 3+4 remakes a couple days ago. As someone who grew up in the 90s and early 2000s, Tony Hawk is in my blood. The remakes are kind of a strange beast but very good (I still need to go back and play the classic version of 4 at some point). I could have continued to Rowley Darkslide forever–but that would be in direct conflict to my efforts to hit credits on every game ever made.

Speaking of, here’s everything scheduled to leave Game Pass at the end of the month.

With Borderlands 4 just peeking over the sun and sand blasted horizon (it launches in September), it makes sense that we would lose Borderlands 3.

I’m in danger of missing my chance to check out Sea of Stars again. For the uninitiated, it’s a classic turn-based RPG with a perfect soundtrack and some of the best pixel art ever drawn. It practically bleeds Chrono Trigger. It’ll be a glorious day when I finally find the time to play it. If you have 30ish hours to kill over the next couple weeks, that’s my pick.

As long as my internet cooperates, it’s going to be a packed week at the site. I’ll be writing about all the things that bring me joy at Opening Night Live and the summer edition of the Future Games Show. We also have a Kirby event scheduled for tomorrow morning, which I’ll probably skip writing about (as much as I love Sakurai and his little son).

One last important bit of business before I surrender you to your backlogs. I need to harness the collective power of the internet. Say it with me, we’re going to manifest this if it’s the last thing I do:

“We are going to get a Silksong release date tomorrow.”
