Virtual Console Dreaming: The Chibi-Robo! Update

Chibi-Robo! by Skip Ltd. and Nintendo

Chibi-Robo! will be available to Switch 2 owners with a Switch Online subscription on August 21st. If it hadn’t already been announced that we were getting it early in the Switch 2 life cycle, this drop would have broken my brain.

This is a big one for me. Chibi-Robo! checks a lot of boxes for what I look for in potential additions to Nintendo Switch Online:

  1. It’s weird.

  2. I missed it at launch.

  3. I’ll always make time for a 3D platformer.

  4. I have a soft spot for playing as a small character in a gigantic version of our world (I really should check out Grounded at some point).

  5. It also doesn’t hurt that, at the time of this writing, GameCube copies go for north of 200 dollars.

Other than Donkey Kong Bananza, it’s currently what I’m looking forward to checking out the most when I finally buy my console.

As always, here are my hopes for the service. There have been no updates since the last Virtual Console Dreaming.

I’m still on a mild hiatus from Tactical Reload–however, that’s about to come to a screeching halt. Gamecom kicks off in exactly seven days. It’s already confirmed we’re getting gameplay from the new Resident Evil, and given that there will be a playable demo for Silksong, I’m expecting a release date.

What other secrets does Geoff have up his sleeve? We’ll find out together next Tuesday and don’t forget to check back here for coverage of all the coolest stuff.

I genuinely believe Silksong is finally happening.
