It’s a Sprint: Games Leaving PlayStation Plus September 2025 Edition
Odin Sphere by Vanillaware and Atlus
Sony has been working extra hard lately to make sure I don’t finish any of the games I’m currently playing. That proud tradition continues this month with the additions of Sword of the Sea, Unicorn Overlord, Indika, and the classic versions of Resident Evil 2 and 3. I promised I would only replay the latter if they added trophy support, but come on, who am I kidding?
If you’ve never experienced those, move them up in your rotation as soon as possible.
Here is everything scheduled to leave the PlayStation Plus catalog in September. It’s worth noting that this is the Japanese PSN list–if it turns out we’re losing more when the North American list goes live, I’ll update the info below accordingly.

The lord giveth Vanillaware and the lord taketh away. I still might try to make time for one of these departures, though. I’ve wanted to play Odin Sphere for a decade.
I’m also halfway through The Plucky Squire. The gameplay wasn’t really my thing, but the art is so lovely that I’ll most likely hit credits in the next month.
For all intents and purposes, my break from regular site updates is over. Opening Night Live is this week so you should expect some kind of coverage of that. I promise, unlike E3, it won’t take me a month this time–but depending on its scale, I’d bet on my takes getting posted the following day–or the day after if the Future Games Show also demands impressions. It’s probably obvious, but I like video games too much.
See you soon!
