It’s a Sprint: Games Leaving PlayStation Plus August 2025 Edition

Bugsnax by Young Horses

From the PlayStation Plus departures last month, I was able to make it through both Dying Light 2 and Remnant 2–though that combined 45 hours probably represents my limit for the “It’s a Sprint” lifestyle.

Luckily, PlayStation just filled the void with some absolute bangers including Cyberpunk 2077 and Planet Zoo. The real question you should be asking now isn’t where are the games–it’s will you have the hard drive space to play them? If you’ve been using your PS5 exclusively as a vessel for live service updates–Sony just called your bluff.

The real question I’m asking is when are those ports of Resident Evil 2 and 3 arriving?

For now, here’s everything scheduled to leave the service next month:

Witcher 3 is a must play–but you’re probably better off experiencing it while not on a time crunch. Bugsnax, on the other hand, is a wonderful little slice of weird and an easy recommendation. And at eight to fifteen hours, it won’t even be a sprint over the next few weeks–more like a brisk walk to your front door when you get the notification your package has arrived.

Who knew there were so many Sword Art Online games? Why do some of the titles have a colon while others don’t? What is an Alicization Lycoris?

Wild Hearts by Koei Tecmo Games, Omega Force, and EA

We’re quickly approaching my 100th article for Tactical Reload. Even if I decide to slow my update schedule to go back to learning game dev (because I could really use a break after the last six weeks), I expect I’ll hit that milestone before the end of the summer.

Go play some games.
