It’s a Sprint: Games Leaving Game Pass May 31st 2025 Edition

I’m so glad I chose to play Chants of Sennaar from the last batch of Game Pass departures.

Chants of Sennaar is a retelling of the Tower of Babel where you’re tasked with deciphering a fictional language in order to solve puzzles. Not just a smattering of vocabulary words, but different dialects and shifting sentence structures, as well. It basically is the definition of something that’s “not for everyone,” but it kept me engaged all the way to the (true) ending and credits. I echo the popular online opinion that I’d like to see a dev take a crack at making the same sort of game with a real world language. The closest I could think of is Shashingo, which is a title that teaches Japanese while you photograph cute neighborhoods.

I should totally play that.

As always, here is everything scheduled to leave Game Pass at the end of the month.

I’m still in a faux hiatus while I hammer in the fundamentals of a few different game design programs (or, rather,  programs that I’m planning to use for game design). Blender isn’t so scary, anymore! I even made the donut! I’ll include the evidence at the bottom of this article.

I’ll be back in a few days to report on what’s leaving the PlayStation Plus catalog (the list SHOULD be revealed around the 20th). Hopefully, they won’t keep us waiting like they did in April.
