It’s a Sprint: Games Leaving Game Pass April 15th 2026 Edition

Ashen by A44, Annapurna Interactive, and Xbox Game Studios

This is an ice cold take–but I’m not ready for a new console generation.

Xbox recently announced the Helix–which they should just name the Helix. Will it be a PC? A console? Who knows? This reminder of my mortality was immediately followed by yet another PlayStation hardware price hike.

The “worst generation ever” seems to be an opinion I keep stumbling across. While I understand the argument (and the baked in frustration), I don’t think I’d go that far. To call the generation that gave us Returnal and Elden Ring “bad” is a stretch.

Here is everything scheduled to leave Game Pass in mid April.

I’ve been busy.

I’m not complaining. It’s a good, fulfilling type of busy. However, in an effort to continue to publish games, teach myself game dev, and work on personal projects, I’ll probably pull back from here a bit more. I’m still committed to reviewing every Switch Online Virtual Boy game. It would be incredibly lame to dump the project after talking about it for six months (admittedly it’s taking longer than expected because of, you know, the whole red and black thing). Even if I take a more formal hiatus, Tactical Reload will never go away completely. There will always be more video games to play and I’ll always be in the mood to talk about them (the interesting ones, at least).

Until next time, I should probably go play some Virtual Boy games.
